The short answer
Your recruiting score compares your PBs with the times and marks US college programmes recruit at, from NCAA Division I top programmes to junior college. 85 or more is Division I range, 70 to 84 Division I mid-major and Division II, and 55 to 69 Division II, NAIA and junior college.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good recruiting score?
A score of 85 or more puts you in range for NCAA Division I programmes, 70 to 84 for Division I mid-major and Division II, and 55 to 69 for Division II, NAIA and junior college. Under 55, junior college can still be a strong route while you keep improving.
How is the recruiting score worked out?
Each event is scored against the seven levels in the OSS Standards Engine, from NCAA Division I top programmes to junior college. Your overall score is your best event plus a small bonus (up to 4 points) for other events close to it, because coaches value athletes who can score in more than one event.
Does my school year change the score?
Yes. US coaches expect younger athletes to improve, so we ease the standards by about 1.8% for each year of school you have left, the same adjustment the Standards Engine uses.
Is this the same as World Athletics points?
No. World Athletics points compare performances across events at an elite level. The OSS recruiting score is based on what US college programmes actually recruit at, which is what matters for a scholarship.
Does a high score guarantee a scholarship?
No. Coaches also look at progression, grades, event needs on their roster and how you come across. Your score shows where to aim; we help you turn it into offers.
