George Couttie: From nearly joining the military to European silver
When George first contacted OSS he was thinking seriously about joining the military and wasn't qualifying for English Schools. Today he is a European Cross Country silver medallist and an NCAA Indoor Championships silver medallist in the Mile.

The story
How did it start?
“George contacted me when he was seriously thinking about joining the military. He was a really talented lad, but at that point he wasn't even qualifying for English Schools. Nobody was talking about him as a future international. We saw something in him, and we've been with him from day one.”
And where is he now?
“He's a European Cross Country silver medallist and one of Britain's fastest ever athletes over 3,000 metres. He ran the fifth-fastest indoor 3K ever by a British athlete, at just 21. In the US he's won silver in the Mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships. It's a remarkable journey.”
What does that relationship look like after four years?
“We've been working with George for over four years. I'd honestly call it a lifetime of support. He isn't just a client; he's an athlete I deeply care about. Watching him grow from a young man into one of the best distance runners in the UK has been an absolute pleasure. He's probably our greatest success story.”
